Well, on my IBM A30p this patch mostly works. However, if I try to boot
with my pcmcia 56k 3Com Megahertz 3CXM756 installed the machine hangs.

In fact, if I insert the card after a successfull boot the machine hangs,
but removing the card immediately fixes the hang.

Here's the message it prints before it hangs:
