You cannot say one priority scheme is the *right* one, it only breaks different systems. The problem is stupid laptop designers who did not wire all the IRQ lines to the pcic. Th ones not wired cannot be detected by other means that actually have code generate a real live interrupt and have a handler listen to them. I have such code somewhere, although one person reported it not working for him so I punted there. A dynamic scheme that does not work always is worse than a static scheme that can be configured. Now, our irq-list should probably have some override mechanism to it in order to more easily solve this, I have suggested a "dummy" device that one can configure in UKC to take up a certain IRQ or IO-port range which we are not allowed to use. It was not wholeheartedly accepted, so I dropped it. Couple of problems though; wondered if any of you guys could help me iron them out before I upload my config to the laptop pages. o The cd drive, being quite old and worn, picks up errors when I try to copy the source onto the harddisk. If I copy it over anyway, and do a cvs update is there a flag to overwrite my local changes? Would that work? The only other option seems to be ftping down a current src tree. Because harddisk space is going to be pretty tight I don't really want the whole source tree - just the kernel source. I can then update the binaries from snapshots. I think apmd_flags was added to rc.conf for 2.4. If so change the apmd_flags entry to apmd_flags="". I'm pretty sure that will do the job. 2.5 also adds a sysctl (machdep.apmwarn) to turn off the message until the percentage falls below a specified value. // marc From owner-openbsd-mobile-outgoing@monkey.org Sun May 9 00:38:15 1999 Delivered-To: openbsd-mobile-outgoing@monkey.org Received: by funky.monkey.org (Postfix, from userid 502) id D7F6F23D98; Sun, 9 May 1999 00:38:14 -0400 (EDT) Delivered-To: openbsd-mobile@monkey.org Received: by funky.monkey.org (Postfix, from userid 1001) id 65E3523D97; Sun, 9 May 1999 00:38:13 -0400 (EDT) Received: from uq.net.au (fox.uq.net.au [203.101.255.1]) by funky.monkey.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B3DB223D87 for ; Sun, 9 May 1999 00:35:09 -0400 (EDT) Received: from MaRS.oc.ml.org (IDENT:cqSlmc6Arg3wk0TI7K/k@dyn-12-222.dialin.uq.net.au [203.100.12.222]) by uq.net.au (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id OAA00006 for ; Sun, 9 May 1999 14:35:04 +1000 (GMT+1000) Received: from localhost (IDENT:8vTVfLDUklTDPAbDT.ry@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by MaRS.oc.ml.org (8.9.3/8.9.2) with ESMTP id OAA14453 for ; Sun, 9 May 1999 14:31:22 +1000 (EST) Date: Sun, 9 May 1999 14:31:21 +1000 (EST) From: "Robert D."
