I am getting OpenBSD 2.5 working on a Toshiba 490XCDT. I have BIOS-configured it for PCIC support (rather than CardBus). My dmesg output is below. What happens is that the card is detected, dmesg shows an interrupt being assigned, I can xmit packets but I can't receive packets via the interface (ep1). tcpdump on another host shows ARP requests going out, ARP replies being sent to the laptop but not being acted-on. I understand that the method of doling out PCMCIA interrupts has changed from 2.3 to 2.4 and again to 2.5. I have hacked dev/isa/i82365_isasubr.c to adjust the interrupt list per a few of the other archived messages from this list in the past few months. I have gotten the kernel to assign variously IRQ 9, 11 and 5 to the card, but none works. I have also been trying flipping the link[01]/-link[01] combos along with these IRQ assignments. Oddly, exactly *once*, I was able to get the link up and pinging, but never again--very frustrating! Is there any new advice on this topic? Is it worth trying a -current kernel because of any new support in there? Thanks! Apm doesn't work, but more importantly, the com ports won't probe. My boss recently installed the latest release of Win98 on this machine and I'm afraid it may have damaged the thing. The com ports do seem to be turned on, and the dongle is plugged in (even Windows won't find the ports if it's not). Any suggestions? I've just got a few digital hinote ct450's; 486dx4's with about 8 meg of ram. Trouble is, allegedly someone has disconnected a battery in the back of them, meaning when they are powered on they ask for an unkown bios password. Anyone got any ideas? I suspect there is a factory preset password or something that's written in the manual. With any luck, if we can work out the passwords we can get more ;) Worth a shot.
