 1.  3568 wasn't closed.  it's in feedback requesting more info.  it 
 appears no feedback was ever received.
 
 2.  it's too late for 3.5.
 
 3.  just because this patch wasn't applied doesn't mean it won't work.  
 many other changes making the whole umass/scsi layer better were 
 committed.
 
 please confirm that a recent snapshot really truly doesn't work without 
 this patch.
