All the virtual terminals are foobared after I start X (by way of startx
or xdm).  They seem to display a portion of the memory (moving pixels of 
color, etc).

I'll try to add a picture...

Basically, the mainboard is a via cl 10000 and I've done no tweaking
whatsoever.
