Removable Drive
Hi,
Im trying to use a Maxtor One Touch USB removable drive (150 GB) for
backups on my OBSD 3.5 box, formatted as FFS, having some problems with it.
The device has been recognized as

Have mounted on /mnt as /dev/sd0c, it works fine, can read/write and stat.
The problem is when disconnecting it. When the cable was unplugged by
mistake, OBSD 3.5 yelled,
**
umass0: at uhub0 port 2 (addr 2) disconnected
**
Wasnt it supposed to detach sd0 and scsibus1 as well ?
So, when issuing 'df -hi'

It says /dev/sd0c is still there.
When trying to umount with 'umount /mnt',
**
# umount /mnt

The command prompt freezes, doesnt issues any error, not even ctrl+c
will kill it.
Ive setup one of them drives for nightly backups, from the Cron, instead
of freezing the command prompt, it freezes the whole machine. The
machine is still alive, altho the keyboard wont answer to anything but
alt-Fx, all network services wont answer to any request (but they seem
to be alive as I dont get connection refused, I get a connection but the
service wont answer to a request), and the machine still does ping
backs. Only way is actually rebooting the box.
Not very fireproof as it sounds, have yous come across any of this before ?
Follows my dmesg,
