>Description:
After upgrading from 2.5 -> 2.6, I get frequent kernel crashes,
sometimes 2 or 3 in an evening. I haven't been able to find
a way to reproduce the problem at will. I've gone back to
running the 2.5 kernel, leaving everything else at 2.6, and
no longer have any problems. Here are the last 4 crashes I had
(the first ones I recorded):
On a custom compiled, non-patched, 2.6 kernel:
kernel: privileged instruction fault trap, code=0
stopped at _pn_newbuf+0xb0 movl _cpl,%esi
On the stock 2.6 GENERIC kernel, had this one twice:
panic: ipintr no HDR
stopped at _debugger+0x4: leave
On a custom compiled 2.6 kernel, with a number of the patches,
including ATAPI and poll:
vm_fault (0xe0a68b00, 157d000, 1, 0) -> 1
kernel: page fault trap, code=0
stopped at _m_freem+0x14: movl _cpl,%edx
The system is an 83MHz pentium overdrive in a 486 PCI motherboard.
I have a Linksys (pn0) ethernet card running at 100Mbps.
>How-To-Repeat:
Don't know how to recreate, but it usually seems I have a lot
of network activity going while it crashes.

2.5 kernel :(
