Re: PPPoE on openbsd

Jonathan,

I recently went through the fun of getting PPPoE working under OpenBSD, so
here's what I did..

the first version that worked for me is located at:
http://www.ecf.toronto.edu/~stras/pppoe.html
and has a file called README.BSD which tells you all you need to know
that's CSD specific.

You'll need to get cozy with the pppd man page though, well, I had to to
get it working.

The guy who did all the BSD stuff Matt Robinson, has updated the code for
OBSD, so you can get the new version here, which I haven't tried out as much:
ftp://ftp.cs.yorku.ca/pub/matt/pppoe-alt-0.4.tar.gz

The port redirecter that you'll need is located at the second URL, or you
can grab it right from the NetBSD ports tree.

Hope this helps you.

Chris Lawson

PS please set Outlook to post email in plain text be default, the other
text (not sure what it is) doesn't always jive with other mail readers.
