I coerced the Curses and Perl/Tk modules into compiling under 2.6 some time
ago, but I don't remember what tweaking, if any, I had to do with Curses. It
certainly wasn't necessary to reinstall Perl, though.

I just tried the demo in an xterm with TERM set to xterm-color, and at the
console and it may look a little wonky, but I believe it's functioning
correctly. Gdc works in the xterm with nice red digits, but color fails
on the console. I haven't been using color in my own app yet, but I have
exercised most of the other functions, and the only thing I've had to change
is to add an explicit clear; and refresh; to clear stdscr before I create any
windows.
