Remapping the keyboard [Re: keyboard and charsets]
Well, I did as much rtfm as I found both from OpenBSD and FreeBSD,
including faq, man pages and mailing list archives, but haven't been
able to configure my keyboard layout yet. Most related subjects on the
mailing list archives have just gone unanswered.
I've seen some 8 bit characters with Alt+<key>, so there must be a way
to have it done right. Apart from the configurations which I tried
earlier, other tries like adding to ~/.profile
set meta-flag on
set output-meta on
set convert-meta off
set cons25l1
have been unsuccessful so far.
The closest reference I've found is a mail concerning the German
keyboard layout. It seems he had it configured with 2.5, but the same
configuration wouldn't work for 2.6.
Someone pointed out a problem with some change from 8 colours to 16, and
iso to IBM cp850, and other changes to the console by Aaron Campbell.
So, could anyone point me to informations leading to how to remap my
keyboard? I've been looking at iso codes, but cannot see anything
useful for changing keycap.pcvt (the syntax). All I've been able to
work out is the keys codes through vi in the form of \xab ... hopeless
so far. If the whole thing is meant to be anglocentric, I may be
wasting time here.
TIA
