cdrom problem

Hi,
I recently installed openbsd 2.6 on a dell xps 133 (yeah thats right a P 133).
My CDROM is a TEAC  CD-56E, it is set to master on the secondary ide controller.
As far as I can
tell it is a standard ATAPI device (if I am wrong, please no flames)
Everytime I try to moun the drive, i get input out errors. I know BSD detects
the drive because
it says so during the boot sequence.

If anyone experienced something similiar or know of a possible fix, please let
me know.
