Re: Invoking vi corrupts terminal
I noticed the same problem yesterday after a 'make build' of
-current. Console only, xterm is fine. I have not done
exhaustive tests but vt220 seemed to be the problem. When I
logged on and specified pcvt25 there was no corruption in
mutt or vi, which were the two apps getting corruption before.
Let me just double check ... now with vt220 mutt has a corrupted
top two lines but otherwise ok. With pcvt25 no corruption. vi
seems ok now, only complaining that 'This terminal has no #5 key'
when term is vt220. So perhaps subsequent builds cleared things
up to some extent. Yesterday on my other machine ... yep. that
one still gets completely corrupted console screen when vi runs
on vt220, with no problem on a pcvt25 setting.
Would dmesg from both machines be of interest/value?
