RE: Sharing bandwidth

Don't have the time, energy, or skills to look see if this idea is
practical. Could require writing a custom device drivers. May need to do
some reverse engineering if the hardware specs are not available.

Been looking at upgrading/reconfiguring some of our Cisco boxes.
When I was looking at the processor and memory specs for Cisco 3600 Series
routers, I discovered that although these boxes use odd processors and
memory the Network Modules plug into "general purpose PCI bus slots". This
raises a lot of interesting possibilities. A lot of 3600 series modules are
the same as 2600 series modules. Haven't looked into pricing of new/used
Cisco network modules.

A more straight forward approach would be to use PPP connections
across one or more pairs of vanilla serial ports between a couple of boxes,
instead of using exotic Cisco network modules.
