Re: ifconfig dummy device
Ok, obviously, I wasn't reading the original entirely correctly. Usually
in linux when you do something like:
device0:0 in an ifconfig, that means you're doing an alias. You can assign
multiple addresses to a loopback device.
I'm not sure exactly what the dummy device does in linux. Does it just
set up a tunnel with different IPs at each endpoint?
