What laptops work?

I am likely to buy a Sony VIAO (slim version) or Dell laptop in the near future,
along with an AT&T CDPD Cellular IP Ethernet card.

How friendly is the latest release of OpenBSD (2.6) with the above laptops and
cellular IP Ethernet cards?

Also, how do people find the qualify of the VIAOs?  They are really nice and
slim, but can they stand long-term abuse and use?

My main usage would be for remote UNIX administration.
