Thanks for the "?" hint above. fgsch@ started me off in the right direction
regarding an incorrectly synced tree. I just now need to figure out how,
if possible, to change CVSROOT when starting from a ports.tar.gz off a CD. I'd
been using CVS_IGNORE_REMOTE_ROOT and $CVSROOT -d to sync up, but clearly there
are issues with that method.
