Now that you say it, almost all the times that my machine too hung, I was
playing .mp3 files.  I say almost, just because I am not too sure to
commit it; but I must say that whenever I work on my machine, the music is
generally ON, and so (I can safely say) it must be always. 

And another thing, once it hangs, and I reboot, the machine doesn't hang
after that.  It's only the first time that it hangs.  (It could also be
that I may not sit for so long as the first time, for it to hang ...
but I just mentioned it.)

PS: And in my case, it's never that mpg123 (which plays the .mp3) only
hangs.  The whole machine locks up.  So it could be a different problem.
