If you help one overworked sysadm to secure his machine then you have made
a difference. A small one, but still. I don't worry about scans from
curious home computer users, but when a compromised well-connected machine
is used for scanning and entering then we have a problem. Just ask Yahoo
and CNN.

Of course I also suggest to the owner of the compromised machine that he
should take a look at openbsd! :-)
