USB keyboards do not work on the i386 platform as of yet. The reason it
works for you before enabling USB is that your BIOS emulates a regular
PS/2 keyboard. As soon as you enable USB, the BIOS notices the OS touching
the device, and automatically stops the legacy keyboard emulation.
