i use ddup (http://www.ddup.org/ -- most rated one :-).

this is a client implemented with C and it works just fine, being
started from ip-up (pppd script). personally i think a client in
native code is better than, perl for example, because i don't use
perl much, it isn't cached and it startup for just a second of work
seems to be wasteful on my 486 (yeah, IT IS noticeable).
