lmc0 question

hi,
  plunking away at getting a lmc0 T1 card going and well am not 100%
sure that i have the..
hostname.lmc0 set correctly .. currently it is set to.
inet aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd 255.255.255.252 NONE 
looks ok to me is as appears to work without media ..
and a ifconfig -a looks like..
lmc0: flags=8050<POINTOPOINT, RUNNING, MULTICAST> mtu 1500
net aaa.bbb.ccc.123-->0.0.0.0 netmask 0xfffffffc
a route show lends..
fe80::280:c8ff:feca:5ee0%lmc0 ::1 UH
there is no link 0 so how does one assign one.. manually for p-p from 
one as to another via lmc cards.. tried
"ifconfig lmc0 LOCAL detination REMOTE link0 linktype chdlc"
have also tried ..
changing /etc/hostname.lmc0 to
net LOCALADDR REMOTEADDR link0 link1 link2 up 
which errors out.. Chris or anyone else that uses lmc would be appreciated!
