Thanks to Angelos, we figured it out.  In case anyone else reads this
later etc., you must specify one of -out/-in and
-require/-acquire/-dontacq/-use now.

Hmm, actually, I do not see where in the manpage it says that these
are required.  It mentions 'out' is default, but I don't see anything
about -require and party.
