Okay, I am going to wade in here with a comment or two. I'll try to be brief:

A lot of the knowledgeable people who respond to this list bemoan the type
of questions posted as repetitive or downright stupid. Fair enough. A lot of
bandwidth and time gets wasted. However, how productive (or mature for that
matter) is it than one stupid question can loose a two-day avalanche of
insults in response? I subscribe to this list primarily to read and learn.
It would simply be so much better if so many of the posts did not consist of
BSD gods hurling flames at lesser mortals. If a question or comment is beneath
you, please consider simply ignoring it.
