rebuilding system

I've been tracking -current for a while and tried rebuilding my system 
today. I've followed the instructions posted by Marc Espie a while ago
on this list (rebuilding ld etc.)
The rebuild stops with the following error:

|cc: /usr/src/gnu/egcs/libobjc/linking.m: Objective-C compiler not installed 
|on this system
|ld: linking.o.o: No such file or directory
|*** Error code 1
|Stop in /usr/src/gnu/egcs/libobjc.
|*** Error code 1

Any hints are much appreciated.
