<confused> Did you not ask just a few days ago about KDE? </confused>
In any event, cut-and-paste HOWTO: select text from terminal (and most
GUI programs too) with primary mouse button. Paste text into terminal
(and most GUI programs too) with the middle mouse button (button 3).
[Question to group -- does mouse work without X? I saw that pcvt can
pretend to have a mouse, but what if it does have a mouse? Does that
required moused(8) available in 2.8?]
Other useful things -- in vi, you can read files into the current buffer
by using <esc>:r /filename/goes/here<enter>. Combining this with shell
redirections (>filename, 2>&1 >filename, etc), you could send all the
errors from the pkg_add command you were trying to run (if memory
serves) to a temporary file, and read in the errors to vi later. This
method is particularly good when the text to be copied is more than one
terminal's worth. :)
Now, I understand much better your reluctance to show the actual error
messages in the past. It meant much typing. :)
