ifalias routing.

I have an alias for one device and I would like to route all traffic going
to XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/XX via either ip1 or ip2 of which both ips are on the
same device.

Say my main ip for ne3 is 1.2.3.4 and I have an ip alias for ne3 with the
ip of 2.3.4.5 . 1.2.3.4 goes through one network and 2.3.4.5 goes through
another network (which is faster for "local" traffic).
eg.
ping 1.2.3.4 to somenetlocalhost.net -> 100+ms
ping 2.3.4.5 to somenetlocalhost.net -> <10ms.

Since the default gateway is 1.2.3.4 all traffic is going to go through
1.2.3.4 . Tough I wish to take advantage of the other route through
2.3.4.5 . Essentially I wish to route certain networks through one ip and
all others through the default gateway.

Ug.. did that make any sense?

Tried using "route add" but with no luck as it complains about the gateway
for IP to as not being reachable...

Any ideas or suggestions???
