It's meant to be funny. There are jokes and puns in other man pages, too
(under BUGS), like this little gem from biosboot(8):

     You can pick your motherboard, and you can pick your BIOS, but you
     can't pick your motherboard's BIOS.

Or how about tunefs(8):

     You can tune a file system, but you can't tune a fish.
