RE: Why OpenBSD?
My first point will be that I have added advocacy to this reply and would
suggest that we drop misc from future posts.
This is my opinion, it is why I use OpenBSD. I cannot speak for others.
OpenBSD puts solid code at the top its priority list. The first side effect
of this attitude is a very secure, very stable operating system.
Stability comes in two froms, reliable operation and an avoidance of the
"feature of the week" attitude that I have seen in other open source
projects. Reliable operation keeps my systems running without my needing to
watch them like a hawk. Not changing major operating system function on
every release helps me to maintain my understanding of how things work while
spending my time learning more, not researching how the "new and wonderful"
changes impact my operations.
