I'm not sure if this post belongs here, or on the bugs list. So I figured I'd
just use this list. Anywho, here it goes: I recintly decided that I would
give OpenBSD a try. So I downloaded the floppy28.fs img and put it to a disk.
I reboot, and when it starts to boot, and go through the different probs it
causes my system to freeze at this point:
...
isa0 at mainbus0
isadma0 at isa0
I first thought that it may be a bad disk, so I tried again with another. The
same thing happened. I was looking at the FAQ's and I thought the problem might
have been covered in FAQ 8.19 (Help, My NIC isn't properly detected in 2.8
-This will help you if you are having booting freezes or problems with OpenBSD
2.8) So I did as was suggested in the FAQ, and at the boot> prompted typed boot
-c and then at the UKC> prompted typed disable pcibios and then quit.
But the problem still occurred. A little info on my hardware that I think may
be causing the problem. I have an ISA Ethernet Adapter (From Options by IBM)
which is an NE2000 (compatible?) card. I current have no difficulties using it
in Linux. Though I do believe ISA probes in the past did cause troubles. Any
help would be greatly appreciated
