Hi, all,
I quote from INSTALL.powerpc:
( begin quote )
Preparing your System for OpenBSD Installation:
-----------------------------------------------
The powerpc port boots off a boot program in an MSDOS filesystem.
This is now set up by the install program and no special setup is required.
( end quote )
This may refer only to booting from CD. However, the PowerPC installation
script does keep referring to MSDOS partitions. I also have independent
confirmation from one other G4 Cube user that the MSDOS partition is
required; another user notes that Open Firmware on G4 Macs does not
recognize UFS partitions.
John, what machine are you working with? Can I see a copy of your fdisk and
disklabel output for comparison?
Thanks. :-)
