php and sybase

hello all

im hoping to be able to compile php3 or 4 with sybase support on
openbsd 2.7. on php.net it says to contact sybase for libraries to
link with. the people ive spoken to at sybase dont really seem to
know what to do with me, i was wondering if anyone had successfully
done this and if they could give me a name or something of someone
at sybase to get in contact with regrading this.

we use mysql, and dont really want to have to buy a full db off
them. we're a web dev company and one of our clients has a big
sybase db we're meant to be using for the website.
