RE: ISO images
Hi Jan and evryone else
I guess everyone can mirror the OpenBSD release directory and create a CDR
based on theat mirror and made bootable with the 2,8MB Image... the
advantage in obtaining such an ISO Image is in saving the tricky (I guess)
work to do such an ISO and to have a CD wich is often faster than FTP...
I started with OpenBSD 2.7... before I played wit Linux (and still do).. at
Work... well.. take a look at the X-Mailer in the email-haeder ;/... and I
do life in Switzerland (that little land between Italy and Germany with the
size of the nevada desert (as I heard))...
So.. www.openbsd.org/orders isn't really local... the nearest POS is
Germany...
But as far as I can see OpenBSD really rocks (like all unix-like systems
do... well, almost everyone...) and the people do a great work to maintain
the packages, to deliver support and I guess to make those mascots... so THE
DISADVATAGE is, that you don't support those pleople by doing/downloading
ISO Images...
IMHO it's ok to download thoses ISOs for testing and training... but if use
OBSD for seriously you should buy thoses CDs.
Kind Regards
Philipp
