Can you try booting off a floppy? My gut says something about the
OpenBSD boot loader doesn't like being booted from CDROM on your machine
-- there have been other problems with the intel 810 if I recall
correctly, ensure to check the archives if this doesn't fix it for you.

Well, my rule of thumb is, I don't do bios upgrades unless a) there is a
compelling reason -or- b) it may fix a problem I have. If there is a
BIOS upgrade available for your motherboard, by all means apply it -- it
may fix a problem you are having. :)
