[Apologies for any poor formatting or headers in this mail - I am
using the only mail interface available to me just now]

OpenBSD 2.8 should be the same as 2.7 (I think):

ifconfig dc0 up
ifconfig vlan0 10.0.0.1 netmask 0xffffff00 vlan 2 vlandev dc0 up

Then plug dc0 (or whatever) into an 802.1Q switch (or even back to
back into another *bsd box for trunking).

I think, but cannot know for sure, that the vlan interfaces should
just be seen through the normal routeing socket interface as any other
interface.

BTW The GENERIC kernel does not support vlan interfaces - add
'pseudo-device vlan4' and rebuild. Or in my case 'vlan64'.
