I'm guessing that the first two characters of your password are 'do'
you probably meant to type 'su', hit enter, and then your password.
But instead typed 'sudo', hit enter, and then typed the rest of your
password.
Since you're not using sudo, you don't have an /etc/sudoers file.
sudo needs this file to work, hence the error.
