spif driver on sparc

Hi,

Someone just gave me a Sun SBus 8 Serial, 1 Parallel
card with the breakout box and the cable (that looks
like a supertanker tug line) and I was going to wire
it up as a dumb terminal server for some old vt420s.
I assume this should work with the spif driver?

I cant find out any info on the spif driver though as
there is no manpage (on the website anyway, despite
being in apropos).

Anything I should be wary of?  Basic setting up is ok,
just the problem solving bits could cause trouble :)
