*very* slow printing
Hi,
I'm using a PII/266 as print server (LPRng from the ports) under 2.8.
The networked laser works like a charm, but the Deskjet 690C on the
parallel port is slow as a drugged snail. According to top(1), this
is by no means caused by the CPU, nor memory (384 MB). My sample
print job is pretty small: spool file of 10k.
It takes literally an hour to print a small (b/w) GIF.
dmesg attached. Any ideas?
Cheers, patrick
