libcurses and reboot

Hello -
I am running 2.7 and I was applying 027_curses.patch. make depend ran
fine but when I ran make, my machine simply rebooted without any
messages. Same thing happened again after I tried to compile it with the
updated source. I wish I could dig around a little more myself but every
time it aborts, disks are not dismounted properly, etc. Perhaps, someone
else had the similar problem.
