Thanks for all the help. I disabled inetd and so far everything seems
fine. BTW, I ran all the services that I care about (such as qmail) from
tcpserver instead inetd as suggested with the various docs.
Now to the next highly important thing, which I should have done long time
ago - backups. I want to backup my system to a CD-Rs. The CD-R writer is
in one of my Win98 Computer. What's the best way to do this? I was
thinking of using tar and gzip, then ftping it to the Win98 and finally to
burn it. Is there a better way to do it (eg. dump)? Can I do a full
operating system restore? How about partial files? What do you suggest?
