RE: ATI Mobility & XF86 4.0.3 on snapshot

Fredrik,

The ATI Rage Mobility is also used on the Sony VAIO PCG-F808K (European
model) and works fine with XF4 (see attached). Have you set the aperture
in /etc/sysctl.conf (uncomment machdep.allowaperture=2)?

This is the result of a SuperProbe on said system:

First video: Super-VGA
Chipset: ATI Rage Mobility (Port Probed)
        Memory: 8192 Kbytes
        RAMDAC: ATI Mach64 integrated 15/16/24/32-bit DAC w/clock
                 (with 8-bit wide lookup tables)
(programmable for 6/8-bit wide lookup tables)
        Attached graphics coprocessor:
                Chipset: ATI Mach64
                Memory: 8192 Kbytes

There are a lot of different Mobility models, it would be useful if you
specified which Dell Latitude model you have (the C800, for instance,
seems to use the Mobility RADEON)

Hope this helps...

Regards,
PYD

Subject: ATI Mobility & XF86 4.0.3 on snapshot

Hi!
I have a ATI Rage P/M Mobility in a Dell Lattitude that doesn´t seem to
work
with the XFree 4.0.3 that was in a snapshot from last week. I´ve tried
with
the ATI and ATIMISC driver but Xfree only returns "no screens". The vga
driver also seems only to work in 320x200 or something as small.

Ideas anyone? =)
