SMP Activity

Hello All,

Sorry for the cross post, I hope I haven't just annoyyed the hell out of
everyone... :)

I'm doing this to point out to people that there is activity on the SMP
mailing list, with the threat to volunteer to do some work.

It has been decided, so far, that SMP would be a good thing to support,
and that if it is going to be done, it has to be done *right*, not just
one big lock for the whole kernel, but a good amount of granularity, and
well implemented.

If you are a programmer, and you wish to work on the SMP project, then
please visit the quick, ugly hack of a petition at:
  https://www.bits.bris.ac.uk/rik/OpenBSD
It is a self-signed certificate, so your browser will warn you.

We are currently up to 13 volunteers, including myself.

The information will *not* be given out to anyone except the OpenBSD core
team, when presented as a petition/list of people who want to volunteer to
work on the project, in order to get it moving again.

Thanks In Advance,

Rik
