X Server shutdown problems

Hi there,
I'm using OpenBSD 2.9, and the default Xfree. When I am not connected to the internet, I cannot start X Window, because first it shows a message ; "Waiting for X server connections" (or s.th like that) and after that -> it shuts down, saying it cannot connect to a socket. I think that there might be some problems with my /etc files for the host configuration, but i cannot figure them.
I'd be very grateful if someone knew a solution.
