-current kernel and CD probing

The most recent -current kernels fail to find my other CD drive that
a -current kernel from 6 days ago found and operated just fine.

I have recompiled and booted the old kernel (taking it from CVS
with -D "6 days ago") after I first noticed this, and the
CD-writer was working fine again.

Any pointers to my stupid configuration errors are of course
appreciated.
