Is this to say that the NetBSD  port of VMware runs on OpenBSD and
is faster than on Linux, or to  say that the NetBSD port of VMware
runs faster than under Linux, or....

I  can  confirm  that  the  FreeBSD  port  of  VMware  works  just
simmingly, but it had been my understanding that running VMware on
OpenBSD isn't an option at this time.
