Well, show me one manpage, where explicitly is mentioned: This program
is written in C|sh|perl|whatever

1st: It's `which adduser`
2nd: "intuitive" is relative. If you really are into changing sourcecode
of system "relevant" executables, then you should know about file(1) anyway.
3rd: If you are not used to elegant combinations, you can use
"file /usr/sbin/adduser" also
4th: Get some [more] books/docu about introduction to the UNIX OS and it's
commandline (I'd recommend "UNIX Power Tools" and online http://www.ugu.com/
(among a *lot* of others))
