hi Darren,
         Again Thx for the reply. Anyhow to clarify wanted to try to 
do the following..
laptop[ipsec] -> [gwhost] ( host to host transport mode)
gwhost <-> gwhost [tunnel mode]
Now if one of the gwhosts you want to do both host to host and 
tunneling can you?
That way one could say use ESP w/PKI from a laptop if need be 
as well as both gateways would do tunneling. Then wanted to 
use tcp instead of udp for the Transport=$transportprotocol
