RE: kernel programming

thanks - most people recommend things like "the design and implementation
of the 4.4BSD operating system" - i know its a classic but i doesn't contain
any of the newer developements like the new IPSEC code.... and the newer API
like PF_KEY_V2 ... etc

and i have to say that this applies to most of the "classics" to!

i will look into the magic garden -- thanks for the suggestion...

Hi all:

The book "The Magic Garden" will give you a good idea about how to
do unix/bsd kernel programming. I most heartily suggest that you do
the following:

cd /usr/src/sys/
    ....and browse the code.

Any books on the BSD kernel will be helpfull. There is a GREAT
listing of these books on the OpenBSD website, unfortunatly many of
them are out of print. The BSD 4.3 programmer's manual might be a
good place to start.
