I think it's important to mention that these ports may or may not go through
the rigourous auditing of the base system and an admin may (or may not) be
opening the machine up to security holes and bugs in the package.

Not that I'm against ports (I install a few on my desktop machine) but this
caveat is always worth noting IMHO.
