PS/2 Mouse problem

I sent out a message last night to the list, but I did not receive a copy
back so I'm not sure if it went out or not?  My appologies if this is a
duplicate.

I just upgraded from 2.9 to 3.0 and installed X windows for the first time
(I didn't install X windows under 2.9 due to memory limits at that time).

XFree86 3.x seems to run fine but the mouse is completely wacky.  If I
just touch the mouse the cursor goes flying all over the place and it
behaves like I'm wildly pressing the buttons.  In the XF86Config file it
has Protocol = PS/2 and Device = /dev/wsmouse.

I've searched around a bit on the net and can't find anything specifically
about 3.0 (there were many about older versions but they appear to have
used a different mouse device).
