Help! I can't get my iBook to run correctly. : - S

[demime could not interpret encoding binary - treating as plain text]
I have most of the stuff running that you would need for a basic system on a mac; however, I am having problems getting my network to run and getting my modem, ethernet, sound, printer, external usb floppy to work. I just figured out how to get the cd-rom to work.

* Note: I am using the 3.0 distribution.

Can anyone help me to get my printer, etc to work?

My first problem is the local network. I messed stuff up at the install with my ethernet. I think I deleted something in /etc and I know that I have an unqualified domain name and so I cannot mail anything anywhere, from user to user on my system. Can anyone help me get all that straightened out?

Also, I can't find my modem, can anyone tell me where to find that???

My printer will recieve the data from lpr, however, it just prints an h in the top-center of the page followed by another blank page. I am using a HP Deskjet 845c, and it is connected through a usb cable. I have to usb ports on the outside and I have a rage 128 graphics card. Sound appears to be rage m3 or something.

Under Mac OS X, it appears that I have something that says:

Audio (HCF USB V.90 Data/Fax Modem)

when I use the system profiler, can this help anyone?

I have a buslink usb external 1.44mb floppy drive that I have been trying to get to work, but I keep geting an input/output error saying that it won't read or something. I could not get the drive to work under OS X either.

Help would be appreciated
